Day Students Excused From Holiday Meal

Due to falling temperatures and potentially dangerous driving conditions, day students are excused from tonight’s Holiday Dinner. They are still encouraged and welcome to attend, though we understand that it might make more sense to depart campus earlier rather than later.
Arts at Kimball Union are serious fun and engage novice through advanced students in the act of creation.
Whether arts represent your future, your escape, or your opportunity to step outside the everyday and re-examine your world, KUA supplies the means for you to share your vision. Our goal is to give students a knowledge and appreciation of aesthetics, history, and criticism, while providing a platform for each student to find his or her own unique ways of communicating, whether on a piano, a canvas, or the stage.

The Flickinger Arts Center is an expansive facility that unifies the visual and performing arts, from pottery and theater, to band and dance. Flickinger’s light-filled studios also house the Taylor Gallery, which rotates exhibits from our talented students and artists from around the world.

How can I participate in the arts?

There are many ways to experience art at Kimball Union. While we require that every student fulfill visual and performing art requirements, most students explore the arts through afternoon activities, participation in ensemble groups, and on their own. Our schedule is specifically designed so students never have to choose between participating in the arts or another activity, like athletics.
