Admission

International Applicants

Kimball Union is truly a global community enriched by our students who hail from approximately 28 countries each year. Our international students find a welcome home on The Hilltop where they are immersed in an educational and boarding experience that will prepare them for productive and meaningful lives in college and beyond.

We welcome international applications and work closely with families to ensure the transition to a high school in the United States is seamless for all involved. Application requirements and the application process are generally the same for both domestic and international students.

Students can work closely with a full-time ESL specialist through one-on-one meetings, for either one or two class periods a week. We do not offer an English or History ESL course, as all students are integrated into classes.

The Application Process
For applicants whose first language is not English, we require either the TOEFL, IETLS or Duolingo. We will waive the English test requirements for those students who have been studying in the United States for three or more years.  For the 2021-2022 school year, the SSAT is optional for all applicants.

We encourage our international applicants to apply for Grade 9 or Grade 10, as our spaces are limited for Grade 11. To schedule a virtual or on-campus visit, please contact the Office of Admission office at admission@kua.org or 603-469-2100.
