The Kimball Union Academy boys' varsity tennis team is made up of 10 to 12 talented and dedicated student-athletes who excel both on the court and in the classroom. Representing a diverse range of backgrounds, recent teams have included players from across the United States, as well as international students from the Czech Republic and China.
Competing in the Lakes Region League within the New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC), KUA faces top-tier competition from schools in New Hampshire and Vermont. To further challenge its athletes, the team travels throughout New England to compete against schools both in and out of the league. The program emphasizes skill development, mental toughness, and strategic play, creating a supportive yet competitive environment for athletes to reach their potential.

KUA Boys Varsity Tennis opened its season with a hard-fought 4–5 loss to Brooks School on a cold and blustery afternoon. Despite the conditions, the match was tightly contested from start to finish, with several courts coming down to the wire. The closest moment came at third doubles, where KUA held match points before ultimately falling 6–8 in a decisive tiebreak—a result that would have swung the overall match in KUA’s favor.
A highlight of the day was Spencer Jones’ remarkable resilience at singles, rallying from a 3–7 deficit to force a tiebreak and ultimately secure an impressive comeback victory. His performance set the tone for the team’s competitiveness and grit throughout the lineup.
While the final score did not fall KUA’s way, the match showcased strong early-season promise and determination as the team looks ahead to the rest of the season.
