The Kimball Union boys’ varsity hockey team dropped an overtime thriller to Tilton by a score of 6-5 Friday night in Meriden. The teams traded goals through two periods, with KUA getting goals from Roope Hirvonen and Mike Lombardi. Entering the third period tied at two, KUA took the lead on another goal by Hirvonen. However, Tilton showed great resiliency and battled back to score the next two goals before KUA defenseman Bryce Dolan tied the game at four. Fellow defenseman Jordan Harris gave KUA a 5-4 lead late in the third. Tilton again showed its fight, tying the game with four seconds to play. Overtime saw KUA start well, but a seemingly harmless play bounced into the KUA net to give Tilton the victory.
