A Remarkable Day
On Saturday, 12 willing warriors wended their way deep into the White Mountains and fought a ferocious and fearless battle against an undefeated varsity team from WMS. The match was evenly contested. The girls from Meriden left every ounce of energy and heart and determination on the field. The result could not ever tell the story of this day. Indeed, in a season marked by victories and pocked with tremendous successes, this was a shining moment. No mention of individual effort today - this was truly collective effort. From opening whistle to the final blasts, KUA commanded respect of the opposing team and coaching staff. They had not executed such a challenge. The team was but 12 today, but you would never have known it. As the match wore on, the girls from the hilltop neither tired nor retreated; instead they gained in confidence and strength and competitive fire. Truly a remarkable day.
