Skinner Throws Four TD's as KUA Downs Hyde

The KUA Varsity Football team traveled to Connecticut for the second week in a row to take on The Hyde School.  It was once again a game of big plays for the KUA offense that overcame the bigger Hyde players.  KUA rode the arm of quarterback Alex Skinner and his four touchdown passes.  Skinner connected on passes of 13,66,30 and 31 yards for touchdowns to three different receivers.  On the afternoon Skinner was 8 for 14 for 188 yards plus the four TD’s.  Tarik Octave hauled in two of the scores (66 and 31), while Kevin Veiria (13) and Rick Naylor (30) grabbed the other two.  Casey Tanner added a rushing touchdown on a six yard scamper while Devin Thomas closed out the scoring with a 35 yard run for his first KUA touchdown.

Hyde brought a huge size difference with them but the KUA defense was able to hold the Hyde offense at bay for most the afternoon.   Nose tackle Tim McNair was the catalyst for KUA’s defense.  He made plays all over the field and brought a level of energy that  was very much needed on an afternoon where KUA’s toughness was challenged.  Also leading the KUA defense, Brad Kimball’s hustle allowed the Wildcats to slow down the strong Hyde running offense and limit them to 14 points on the afternoon.
