Kimball Union's varsity football team ran its record to 3-0 with a big, 34-6 victory over rival Holderness Saturday evening in front of the Family Weekend crowd. The Wildcats started fast, taking a 7-0 lead after their first possession of the game on a 13-yard run by Travis Jones. Before the end of the first quarter, Ryan Burgess had completed a 32-yard touchdown pass to Akeem Labitue and Kevin Ganglehoff blocked a Holderness punt into the end zone, where Labitue pounced on it for another KUA score. This brought the score to 21-0. Kevin Vierra scored on a 2-yard run in the second quarter and also ran a touchdown in from 3 yards out in the fourth quarter to round out Kimball Union's scoring. Ganglehoff kicked 4 of 5 extra points during the game as well. Next week, Kimball Union takes on undefeated New Hampton for a Friday evening confrontation.
