Wildcats Come Oh So Close to Winning!
Carmen Stancu rapped a single on the first pitch of the game and Megan McDevitt followed with a 2-run homer to put the Wildcats up 2-0 in the first inning. Holderness tied the game in the 3rd, but the Cats answered with another run in the 5th when Becca Carver knocked Ali Bowen home safely. Unfortunately, Holderness scored 2 more runs in the bottom of the 6th to go ahead 4-3 and were able to hold on for the win.
KUA played head's up ball on defense, making just 1 fielding error, but Holderness was fast and aggressive on the basepath scoring 4 unearned runs by stealing home each time. Megan McDevitt pitched her best game of the season by striking out 11 batters and walking just one.
KUA plays host to Vermont Academy on Tuesday, May 2nd.
