KUA Loses Season Opener to Tilton
Despite 9 strike-outs from senior hurler Megan McDevitt, KUA dropped its season-opener to a talented Tilton squad. KUA suffered some first game jitters as they committed 5 fielding errors, but there were several bright spots as well. Reggie Hammond scored on a bunt by Becca Carver in the 4th while Carver knocked in the team's only other run in the 7th with a single to left field. Ariel Hopkins also recorded her first hit of the season with a leadoff single in the final inning while McDevitt rapped a double in the 5th.
Allison Moehrke snared a line drive and tagged first for an inning-ending double-play while sophomore Heather Blackwood had several nice defensive plays in right field. Newcomers Jamila Elmaksoud, Liz Morin, Margaret Bogosian and Karmen Stancu all made significant contributions in today's contest.
