Jackson Kimelman scored the winning goal midway through the third period to break a 3-3 tie as the Wildcats took a road win at Cushing on Saturday. Tied 0-0 in the second, KUA jumped out to a lead in the first minute as Anthony Leech picked the top corner on the powerplay. Assists went to Xander Boutilier and Josh Phillips. After Cushing scored twice, Boutilier and Phillips helped set up Nasean Faria on a faceoff play. The d-man rifled a shot to the top shelf to tie the game. After Cushing took the lead on a 5-on-3 powerplay, Leech sent a pass up the middle to spring Boutilier on a breakaway, and the winger made no mistake, deking the Cushing goalie to tie the game and set the stage for the third period winner. Faria added an empty-netter in the final minute, sending the puck the length of the ice after a faceoff win by Jackson Davies. Goalie Cam Ingram stopped 18 shots to earn the win.
