Late Goal Gives KUA Win Over Exeter

Will Blackburn's shorthanded goal with just over two minutes remaining broke a 1-1 tie and allowed the Wildcats to escape Exeter with a hard-fought 3-1 win. After a scoreless first period, Exeter tallied on the powerplay to open the scoring in the second. Jaiden Moriello, off assists from Blackburn and Kareem Alazem, tied the game at one with a powerplay goal of his own just minutes later. The score remained that way until Blackburn picked up a puck in the neutral zone, skated over the blue line, and fired a wrist shot into the top corner. Alazem, who added an empty-netter in the final minute, and Alex Keller assisted on the play. Dan Heroux was strong in net for the Wildcats, making 27 saves for the win.
