KUA Wins Wild One Over Culver

Mike Sullo scored with 1:48 left in the third period to give the KUA Wildcats a 6-5 victory over Culver Academy at the True Prep Cup in Salem, NH on Sunday. In a game that saw several lead changes, Sullo broke the 5-5 tie when he converted a pass from Griffin Hatley to give the Wildcats the win in the final two minutes. AJ Noel also assisted on the play. The Wildcats fell behind 1-0 after the first, and it could have been worse if. not for goalie Dan Heroux's 20 saves in the period (and 42 for the game). However, KUA came out flying in the second, getting three straight goals from Jaiden Moriello, Tyler Wishart, and Conner Chalmers. Culver cut the lead to one before Kyle Murray-Smith converted from the slot to give KUA a 4-2 lead heading into the third, where penalty trouble for KUA allowed Culver to tie the game with two power play goals. A power play marker by Alex Keller put the Wildcats back up with seven minutes to play, but Culver didn't quit, tying the game at five minutes later and setting the stage for Sullo's winner.
