Looking to bounce back after a tough loss at New Hampton, the Kimball Union Academy boys’ JV1 basketball team traveled to Proctor Academy ready for a challenge.
From the opening tip, it was clear this would be a tightly contested game.
KUA matched Proctor possession for possession in a competitive first half. The Wildcats shared the basketball, attacked the rim, and handled the moment well in a physical, back-and-forth contest. At halftime, Proctor held a slim 22–20 lead, setting the stage for an exciting finish.
The second half delivered exactly that.
Henry Sullivan paced the Wildcats with an impressive 25-point performance, consistently finding ways to score and keep KUA within striking distance. Adi Lesbek added 9 points, Eli Mosdzeleski contributed 5, Michael Ho finished with 4, Bryson Morgan added 2, and Caitlin Cash chipped in 2 as KUA received contributions across the lineup.
With the game hanging in the balance in the final minutes, both teams competed with urgency and intensity. In the end, Proctor Academy was able to edge out the Wildcats 51–47 in a game that remained undecided until the closing moments.
More than anything, this was a strong response performance. After a difficult outing earlier in the week, KUA showed resilience, composure, and belief against a formidable opponent. The growth from one game to the next was evident in the energy, execution, and competitive spirit throughout the two halves.
Kimball Union Academy next travels to Cardigan Mountain School on Wednesday, February 18th. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
