Creative Content & Media Strategist

Kimball Union Academy (KUA) seeks a Creative Content & Media Strategist. The Creative Content & Media Strategist is a key member of the Marketing & Communications team and a creative, digital-first storyteller who will produce compelling visual content across a variety of platforms. This position will work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to create a content strategy and identify opportunities to bring KUA’s mission to life for a variety of key audiences.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Direct, film, and edit high-quality video and photography for use across digital and print platforms, including social media and the KUA website.
  • Identify and produce compelling human-interest stories that showcase the unique people, programs, and experiences of Kimball Union Academy.
  • Create cinematic, long-form content for alumni and donor audiences that connects the Academy’s history with its forward-looking vision.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to produce multimedia content in support of marketing campaigns and institutional priorities.
  • Ensure all multimedia content aligns with KUA’s brand voice, values, and strategic messaging.
  • Partner with the Director of Marketing and Communications to develop creative strategy, concepts, and visual storytelling initiatives.
  • Stay current with emerging media trends to ensure relevance with Gen Z students, Millennial families, and broader audiences.
  • Optimize video and digital content for search and discoverability.
  • Develop and maintain an organized digital asset library.
  • Utilize data and insights to inform content strategy and support mapping of the audience journey in collaboration with campus partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in film, media production, communications, marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum three to five years of experience in video production, photography, and digital content creation.
  • Demonstrated experience producing high-quality multimedia content across platforms, with a strong portfolio of video and visual storytelling work.
  • Experience in education preferred.
  • Proficiency with video editing software, photography tools, and digital media platforms.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience as a creative storyteller with strong visual sensibility.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all organizational levels.
