Ideas Into Motion, Feelings Into Rhythm - Expression Embodied
Performance

Our two annual mainstage performances and multiple smaller events provide rich opportunity for students to work collaboratively and individually to find their voices, hone their technical skills, and stretch their imaginations. Performances feature original choreography created by dance faculty, students, and visiting artists in a variety of styles and techniques.  Dance at KUA is a creative process. The program supports the student who is rigorously pursuing the discipline as well as those who wish to inhabit a happy and integrated body and mind. Through active engagement in extracurricular and academic classes, students of all levels learn to compose and develop a sense of their own artistic expression. Advanced students are encouraged to choreograph independently and in turn, gain leadership skills directing their peers.

Coursework

Students work directly with faculty to challenge and expand their technical range. While all roads lead to performance, students can participate both during the class day and every afternoon in Dance Activity and Dance Ensemble. Located close to Dartmouth College, we take full advantage of master classes and performances offered through the Hopkins Center For The Arts and bring guests artists from across the country to campus to enrich our program.
