Frederic P. York (Nottingham): Frederic "Fred" P. York, 88, of Nottingham died on Wednesday February 23, 2017, at Webster at Rye with his family by his side. Fred was born on January 28, 1929 in Exeter, NH; the son of Fred C. York and Ada M. (Perkins) York. Fred had lived in Nottingham since 1962. He was a graduate of Kimball UnionAcademy, Meriden, NH, and attended the University of Vermont and Dartmouth College where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He was a graduate of the Weaver School of Real Estate, Burdett College, Boston, MA. Professionally, Fred spent the majority of his working life in the construction trade. He was a construction engineer and superintendent. He oversaw hundreds of projects throughout New England and the eastern United States. Companies like McDonald's Corporation, Mediplex Construction Company, Stanmar Inc., and many others enjoyed his employment. In retirement, he worked happily at Market Basket, Lee, NH. Additionally, Fred served in the United States Navy during the end of the Second World War. He was Honorably Discharged in 1947. He also was a long-serving member of the Rising Star Lodge #47 of Free and Accepted Masons (presently incorporated to the Star in the East Lodge #59 of Free and Accepted Masons). Fred is survived by his wife T. Ann (Veno) York of 57 years; son; Kevin York and his wife, Dr. Joanna York, and three grandsons, Evan York, Liam York and Finn York of Charlotte, NC. Fred was pre-deceased by his parents Fred C. York and Ada M. (Perkins) York. Modest flowers are welcome and will subsequently be donated to the residents and caring staff of Webster at Rye. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 4-6pm at Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Rd Rte.4, Lee, NH; with both a Masonic and memorial service to begin at 6pm with Deacon Robert Gagnon, officiating the latter.
