It was a beautiful Friday afternoon on the KUA campus when Holderness arrived en masse for Holderness Day. The Boys’ JV1 Soccer team kicked off at 4:00p.m. and battled until the final whistle earning the 1-0 win. The first half ended in a scoreless tie as the Holderness Bulls parried away every KUA scoring opportunity. Twenty minutes into the second stanza Jigme Sherpa ’15, fed a ball to a charging Dylan vanLeuwen-Hall ’16. VanLeuwen-Hall was clutch as he took on two defenders, dribbled past them and finished the play by beating the keeper. Conor Beaupre ’16, and Max Braun ’17, worked tirelessly in the midfield to establish dominance. Hunter Reed ’16, played through injury and pain showing his mettle. Alex Plummer ’16, and Will Robbins-Cole ’16, earned the shutout in goal. Robbins-Cole also was instrumental in the field at holding Holderness at bay. Andrew Robertello ’18, left it all on the field as he gave everything he had and more. SeHo Kim ’16, Nick L’Heureux ‘17, Joey Groton ’16, Chandler Stowell ’16, and Sam Erb ’18, played stingy defense and wouldn’t let the talented Bull strikers penetrate. Noah Herfort ’17, was solid on the flanks. Ben Astley ’16, was a blur out there creating several scoring chances. The boys play next on Wednesday, 10/8, at 3:00 at NMH.
