We are pleased to announce the appointment of Robert E. Blake as Chief Financial Officer.
Mr. Blake brings a wealth of experience in both the for- and not-for-profit enterprises, having worked most recently as New London Hospital, NH’s Vice President, Controller. Prior to that, he held financial leadership roles at groSolar and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Alliance in the Upper Valley and at MFS Investment Management in Boston, MA.
“We were very fortunate to have had an experienced and qualified talent pool from which to choose,” said Head of School Mike Schafer, “but ultimately our selection committee felt that Bob was exactly the right person for this position. His impressive track record in senior financial management together with his commitment to mission-driven organizations made him the ideal candidate to oversee Kimball Union’s financial strategic plan as we design the blueprint for the beginning of our third century.
“I am delighted with the opportunity to serve as Kimball Union’s next Chief Financial Officer. I look forward to working with KUA faculty and administration, as well as the greater KUA community, to help ensure the school’s success in continuing to meet its mission and preserving its proud traditions in the years ahead,” said Bob Blake.
In addition to directing the financial function of the school, Mr. Blake will serve on the Academy’s senior administrative team.
Bob Blake earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from The Pennsylvania State University and a bachelor’s degree from Utica College. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Cash Manager.
Jim Gray '66, Kimball Union’s longtime Chief Financial and Chief Operating Officer, will assist Mr. Blake in the transition prior to his retirement from the Academy later this year
