Leading from start to finish this afternoon, KUA boys basketball team earned a big road win versus Class AA rival Vermont, winning 67-53. Tremendous back-court play from Rick Naylor (25 points) and Devon Thomas (19 points and seven assists) set the tone. KUA jumped out to a 7-1 lead and held VA to just 20 first half points (32-20, KUA). Naylor opened the second half with a three pointer dagger to extend the lead to 35-20 and from that point on KUA maintained a double digit lead to the end. KUA’s play today was marked with strong team defense, moving the ball at the offensive end, and continuously spotted the open cutter. Jesse Chuku had a great defensive game, Malik Abu was solid on both ends and Devin Gilligan displayed his versatility with suburb passing, defense and rebounding. KUA brings their record to 19-5 with their final two games of the regular season to be played on Friday and Saturday in Putnam, CT.
