Kimball Union Academy Receives $5 Million Donation

Kimball Union Academy today announced the largest gift in the institution’s 194 year history - an unrestricted donation of $5 million dollars from anonymous donors.

"This gift is a magnificent demonstration of support for the school’' leadership and for the strategic direction that will guide us into our third century. Our donors have told us how excited they are by the vision, intelligence, energy and dedication that Head of School Mike Schafer has brought to KUA, and how strongly they feel that KUA’s mission is well worth supporting. In their words, they believe in"...the impact that it (our gift) can have on the school community and the educational needs of kids from different backgrounds over many generations' ,"said Kimball Union Board Chairman Jeff Cutts.

Kimball Union has recently completed strategic and campus master plans, and in the fall it began to take early steps toward its next campaign. While officials are still thinking through how best to utilize this gift, they said it will respond to needs identified by those planning efforts.
