Wildcats Win Home Opener on Turf

Kimball Union Varsity Field Hockey defeated Stoneleigh-Burnham 7-0 on Wednesday night.
It was a good night for Wildcat Field Hockey, as the squad christened KUA's new turf facility with a 7-0 victory.
Whitney Frates (Woodstock, VT.) scored the first goal and added 2 more before the end of the game to earn her her first hat trick of the season. Senior captain Cindy Roseen (Wolfeboro, NH) also netted her first hat trick of the season and also added an assist. Freshman forward Jillian Fitgerald (Enfield, NH) rounded out the scoring with her first career goal towards the end of the first period.
Senior Captain Quinn Sendall (Nashua, NH) played a strong game at midfield and led the team's defense. Junior midfielder Sara Cutts (Andover, MA) distributed the ball well and was a spark for the team's offense. The backfield was anchored by Freshman sweeper Shelby Pillsbury (Claremont, NH) and Senior goalkeeper Lily Callahan (Brownsville, VT). KUA's defense did not allow a single corner and allowed SBS only one shot on goal.
The Wildcats look to improve their record as they take the field against Tabor Academy at 1:45 on Saturday 9/27.
