In its second game of the day on Friday, the Kimball Union boys’ varsity hockey team battled hard but dropped a 1-0 decision to a determined Deerfield Academy. Both teams played tentative hockey for the first period but the second became much more open and saw KUA earn some good scoring chances only to be denied by a very good Deerfield goalie. The game was tied 0-0 entering the third until a Deerfield shot from the slot found the top corner behind KUA goalie Sean Dynan, who played a strong game. KUA battled hard to get the equalizer but came up short and suffered its first loss of the year. KUA’s record now stands at 9-1 on the season.
