Pesky hornets sting the cats

A tough start to the game for the Wildcats, landed them down 3-0 at the end of the first.  Julia Fontaine stood strong in net, smothering puck after puck.  An intense coaches talk between periods had KUA fired up and ready to get back at it.  KUA scored two quick ones to make it a game.  First goal came off of a defensive rush by Rose Abendroth.  The puck found it’s way to the slot, and Sam Vocatura was there to send it home.  KUA’s second goal came during a power play.  Jamie Johnson rushed the puck on the outside, and took a low, hard shot that found the corner pocket.  Ice cut during “half-time” provided a chance to regroup, and head back out for what would be continued back and forth action.   Johnson found the net two more times to earn herself another hat trick this season!  Even the hat trick wasn’t enough to solidify the win for the Wildcats. The Hornets continued to pepper Fontaine, and somehow found the back of the net enough to win by a field goal.  Final score was 7-4. The Wildcats are eager for the re-match with Proctor next Wednesday at home.  It will be a whole new game in their home barn, with familiar music, and KUA’s legendary fans!
