KUA over Tilton

For their first back to back game of the year the Wildcat girls didn't take too long to get their legs under them and get scoring underway.  After a couple of close games to start the season in which the Wildcats have seen a lot of chances without the results showing on the scoreboard they were able to find that success tonght.  Sophomore Mia Brown opened up scoring with 5:18 remaining in the first period on an assist by Sophomore forward Colleen Donoghue and Junior Defenseman Lexi Nottke.  Brown and Donoghue combined on the next two goals as well scoring two short handed goals in the same shift.  Brown and Donoghue have now scored 3 shorthanded goals together on the year. Tilton was able to find the back of the net to open up the second period but KUA was unphased.  Donoghue netted one more in the 2nd period on an assist by Sophomore Taylor Dudek.  Junior Julia Surgenor netted the fifth of the night on an assist by Brown and Junior Greta Close.  Freshman Mikah Baptiste got herself on the score sheet with her first goal assisted by fellow freshman Molly Flanagan.  Junior Lexi Nottke rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats at the end of the second period on an assist by Surgenor.  The game got a little chippy toward the end as both teams combined for 13 penalties, resulting in 19.5 minutes of shorthanded play.  Hats off to Freshman Goaltender Seana Perkins for her first start on the season. She made 18 saves on 19 shots. The Wildcats outshot Tilton 32-19.  Great win for the Wildcats.
