Boys JV1 Soccer Team Ends Season on a High Note

The BJV1 Soccer Team played their last game on Saturday against High Mowing School and came out with a 4-0 victory. The first half ended scoreless even though the Wildcats carried the play. Finally, 12 minutes into the second half, KUA broke the tie Conor Beaupre ’16, beat his man down the flank and crossed the ball toward the goalmouth. There, Cosku Kaplan ’16, rose above all others and deftly headed the ball down and into the corner of the net. In the 67th minute, JunWoo Cheong ’15, carried the ball through a couple of defenders then passed to Hunter Reed ’16, who laid it off to Jigme Sherpa ’15. In his last game for KUA, Sherpa struck a clean shot and found the back of the net. In the 74th minute, Reed showed his athleticism and fed the ball to Dylan vanLeuwen-Hall ’16, who slotted it to Cory Kim ’18. With no hesitation, Kim struck a one-touch half volley and ripped the twine. In the waning minutes, Ben Astley ’16, playing center midfielder, stole the ball not once but twice from the opposing side and launched a missile from 30 yards out that found its target. Alex Plummer ’16, earned the shut out in goal by making a few key saves. The clean sheet was ensured by the tremendous defensive hustle from Nick L’Heureux ’17, Joey Groton ’16, Seho Kim ’16, Sam Erb ’18, and Chandler Stowell ’17. Freshman phenom, Andrew Robertello ’18, magnificent Max Braun ’17, and Nifty Noah Herfort ’17, controlled the midfield completing multiple successive passes time and time again. JunWoo Cheong was amazing as he dominated both ends of the pitch. The team ended its very successful season with a record of 8-4-2. A huge thank you to all of the parents and fans who supported the team’s efforts all season. See you next year.
