Christina Ryan made her Wildcats' league debut a memorable one, as the fiery and athletic freshman phenom put three past Brewster's #1 Goalkeeper in a 3-1 KUA victory. This was a perfect New England soccer day - rainy, a brisk south wind, and temperatures in the mid-50s. Perfect. Both Brewster and Kimball Union came into today's fixture having lost their openers by identical 0-2 scores, and from the opening whistle it was clear that this was going to be quite a battle. Brewster broke through first, notching an excellent tally on a some nifty combination play in the attacking 1/3. From there on in the Wildcats picked up the tempo, and within 6 minutes the game was tied. Freshman Ryan blasted home two more goals in the 2nd half, and GK Rose Abendroth kept a clean sheet in the second stanza to secure the hard fought and well-deserved "W". Other stand out performances on this dazzlingly drizzly day included skilled efforts from Central Midfielder Rachel Litchman, tenacious work on the wing by senior Annie Madden, and tireless defending from wingbacks Lilly Brownell and Rachel Mulavelil. It's always fun to ring the bell, and today's collective effort certainly made that possible!!
