Kimball Union traveled to Proctor Academy Friday evening and walked off with a 5–2 win, despite the host packing their sideline for Family Weekend. Proctor showed up for their fans to, offering a challenging match for our KUA BVS.
The first half was a genuine contest. KUA opened the scoring when Tino picked out Calvin with a well-weighted cross and the winger finished — the latest in a stretch of sharp form from Calvin in front of goal. The Wildcats doubled the lead soon after on a sequence that started wide with Jackson, whose service found Tyler for a finish off his non-dominant foot and the first goal of his KUA career. Proctor pulled one back before the interval, though not before goalkeeper Gio had turned away several strong looks and organized a back line that held its shape under sustained pressure. KUA went into the break up 2–1.
The second half belonged to captain James. He made it 3–1 by reading a rebound at the back post, arriving as the Proctor keeper got just enough on a Faraja strike to push it across the face of goal — James’s first for the Wildcats. He wasn’t done. Minutes later he beat two defenders in midfield, looked up, and buried one from 35 yards out, a goal that effectively settled the match.
Proctor answered from a corner to make it 4–2, but the final word went to Wes. The sophomore, who attended Proctor before coming to KUA, drew a penalty in the box and stepped up to take it himself, slotting home his first goal in a Wildcat shirt to close out the scoring.
A complete team performance — four different scorers, contributions from all three lines, and a response in the second half that answered every Proctor push.
