KUA Tops Tilton at Home

With the Wildcats down 2-0 in the third inning, catcher Avy Arias hit a monster 3-run home run to give the KUA a lead that it would not relinquish, ultimately beating Tilton 7-2 on Monday in Meriden. After Anna Baker and Leila Portugal reached base, Arias crushed the ball to left-center to put KUA up by a run. The Wildcats kept adding to the lead from there, as Arias and Stella Prieto each knocked in RBIs while Gabi Young stole home on an overthrow in the infield. Pitcher Bailey Cassin (14 Ks) helped her own cause with a home run over the left field fence in the sixth inning. Kennedy FitzSimons had a two-hit day for KUA, while Baker, Young, and Olivia Parker also tallied hits.
