On Wednesday, February 18, the Kimball Union Academy JV1 boys basketball team hit the road for what is always a tough matchup against Cardigan Mountain School.
The contest opened as a tightly contested battle, with KUA holding a narrow 15–14 lead midway through the first half. However, Cardigan surged late in the half, closing on a decisive 17–2 run to take a 31–17 advantage into the break. In the second half, the teams continued to battle with KUA falling 47-63.
Foul trouble created challenges for KUA throughout the game, compounded by the athleticism and depth of a talented Cardigan squad. Despite the adversity, the Wildcats continued to compete and found bright spots on the offensive end.
Leading the way was Henry Sullivan, who poured in 15 points, including four three-pointers. Bear Martin followed with a career-high 10 points. Additional scoring contributions came from Adi Lesbek (2), Michael Ho (4), Bryson Morgan (3), Myles Boston (5), and Eli Modzeleski (8).
KUA looks to regroup quickly as they return to the road this Friday, February 20, traveling to Vermont Academy. Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
