We had a great first GS race yesterday at Pats Peak hosted by St. Pauls. Holderness and Vermont Academy were also in attendance. The competition was fierce, the temperature was cold and the snow conditions were perfect for ski racing. Some highlights from the race include Sophemore Claudia Melgarejo Coda placing as our 3rd KUA female finisher which meant her results counted toward the team score! Dora Chang and Emily Feng finished their first-ever GS race with great times and smiles on their face. On the men’s side, Wenshi Zhao flew down the course and scored points for the KUA boys team. Charles Clammer, Richard Qui and Finn Bunk found the fall line and let their skis run, all finishing back-to-back. It was fun to be racing GS. In general, the team seems to enjoy the bigger turns and faster speeds of GS over the quick turns in SL. At the end of the race, we enjoyed all the yummy snacks from the parents (thank you!) and brought home a few of the huge M&M cookies that are a staple at Pats Peak.
