KUA GJVS Travelled to Phillips Exeter Academy and Lost A Tough Match 1-7
GJVS traveled to Phillips Exeter Academy (PEA) and played a hard match. The team played well overall, switching fields of attack and making good passes. Strikers Jitselin Montas, Julia Ferro Anton, and Ella Wang put good early pressure on the ball, supported by midfielders Hadley Bethke, Addy Kopacz, and Emilia Williams. KUA's defense of Maggie Lopez, Hannah Black, Sabrina Haberstock, and Kylie Donovan kept the offense at bay for a time. Eventually, the PEA offense flooded the midfield and began to find openings for passes up the wings. As the PEA offense began shooting, Ada Yoder was a force in the net and made many incredible saves. Substitutes Elsa Shortlidge, Gabi D'Angelo, Jane Zhong, and Hannah French made vital contributions. At the half-time, it was 0-4 Exeter. In the 2nd half, Exeter went on a scoring streak and eventually was ahead 0-7. In the game's closing minutes, Hadley Bethke had an epic break-away and scored a great goal. The final score was 1-7 Exeter. Join KUA next week home on Saturday against WMS.
