• GVS Wins on Family Weekend

  GVS played Tilton at home on Family Weekend. Though we ended with a definitive win, the girls started out sluggish. Still, we made three goals in the first half. In the first minute of the game, Dakoda picked up the first goal from a scramble in the box. About eight minutes later, captain Bethany took a shot from the left flank that soared into the back of the net. About eight minutes after that, Bethany took a shot from the center right side of the field, placing the ball on her left foot and sailing it into the upper left corner. In the second half the girls played a little bit more like themselves and were able to score five more goals. Five minutes into the second half, Izzy’s shot hit the crossbar, and Dakoda earned her second goal off the rebound. Five minutes later, KUA had their nicest team effort of the day. The ball started in our defensive end and after multiple passes and connections up the field, it ended with Izzy who dribbled past some defenders and earned her first KUA goal in the regular season. Two minutes later, captain Summer took a corner kick, and captain Addi successfully got her H on the B! In the 58th minute, once again, Summer took a corner kick, and this time, it was Izzy who got her head on the ball and tallied her second goal of the game. The last goal of the game came from Shannon popping it back to captain Reese who took a shot just outside the box to earn her first goal of the season. The Wildcats are looking forward to traveling to Wilbraham & Monson Academy tomorrow.

• GVS Wins on the Road

  The Wildcats traveled to Wilbraham & Monson Academy on the Saturday of their long weekend. After a three plus hour bus ride, the team only had 20 minutes to warm up. About halfway into the first half Ava served the ball just in front of the net from the right flank, and Dakoda got her head on it to push the ball in the back of the net putting KUA on the scoreboard. The second half started off a little flat. W&M tied it up after dribbling through our defenders. Only two minutes later, KUA responded after captain Summer drew a foul. Summer took the free kick, and captain Bethany was able to scramble with the goalie and push it in. The girls are looking forward to a few days off and then prepare for two back to back Lakes Region games next week.

• GVS Ties with Exeter

  GVS played a tough game against Exeter today to end in a 0-0 tie. Both goalkeepers played aggressively and kept everything out of both nets. KUA made some adjustments at halftime to help us be more competitive the second half. Despite having multiple chances, we couldn't convert. We are looking forward to our game on Friday, which will be home on Grenier against Tilton School during our Family Weekend.

• Great Win Under the Lights

  GVS traveled to Proctor Academy during their Family Weekend and played our first Friday night game under the lights. The crowds were big and the energy high. Izzy and Dakoda made two beautiful connections in the first half to bring the score to 2-0 at halftime. Summer put a free kick in the back of the net to earn the third goal. We are looking forward to playing Exeter at home next Wednesday, October 16th at 3:45pm.

• Another Tough Loss to Brewster

  GVS traveled to Brewster Academy and found ourselves down 4-0 within 15 minutes. One more goal for Brewster brought the score to 5-0 at the half. After the first 20 minutes, KUA settled our nerves and found our groove. We held the Bobcats scoreless during the second half until the 71st minute. With only five minutes left, Bethany found the back of the net to get us on the scoreboard. Proud of the girls for never giving up. We look forward to traveling to Proctor Academy under the lights this Friday night at 6:30pm.

• KUA Beats Holderness

  GVS played a persistent Holderness team today. It was 0-0 at the half, and KUA started the second half searching for the win. With some great through balls, we found some girls and got some chances in the box. Three penalty kicks were drawn, and KUA walked off the field two out of three with another clean sheet in goal. We are looking forward to facing Brewster again on Wednesday as a more organized team. Most importantly, everyone should wish Nick Antol a happy birthday tomorrow!

• KUA Earns First Win at Home

  GVS beat St. Paul's 2-0 earning their first win at home this season. Kai scored 22 minutes into the game. Addi had a big save with a header. Ava scored the second goal eight minutes into the second half. Sydney had a clean sheet.

• GVS Earns Their First Win

  GVS traveled to Tilton School in the rain today and earned their first win of the season. Captain Summer Combe kicked off the scoring in the first minute of the game with a loft outside the box that floated over the keeper's head. About one minute later captain Bethany Solari found the back of the net from the left flank. In the 15th minute Shannon Freeman earned her first KUA goal off a corner kick serve from Summer. Two minutes later, Shannon got her second goal after a nice cross from Izzy Anderson leaving the score 4-0 at the half. Three minutes into the second half, Sylvie McClure served a beautiful ball across the box and Hadley Masson volleyed it in for a goal. In the 64th minute, Izzy connected with Bethany who earned her second goal. One minute later, Summer distributed the ball to Audrey Underhill who earned her first KUA goal by dribbling past the goalie. In the 74th minute, Aiyonna Gay dribbled past a couple defenders and the goalie to earn her first KUA goal. Only one minute later, Summer lofted it into the box, Aiyonna knocked it down with a header, and then ran past the goalie to knock it in. Sydney Zackman and Taylor Swett split the game in goal and earned their first shutout of the season. The team looks forward to our next game against St. Paul's School on Wednesday, October 2nd at 3pm on Pope Field.
  

• Tough Home Opener

  GVS had a tough home opener against a fast and organized Brewster Academy team. Despite captain Summer Combe putting in two shots in the first half, we were unable to keep the score close. A huge shoutout to Sydney Zackman for her amazing efforts in goal and for keeping us in the game.

• Good Rebound

  GVS had a good rebound after our tough loss against Brewster. Keeping the Class A NMH team to just two goals in the first half. Despite many injuries on the team, we still rose to the occasion and gave NMH a good fight. Shoutouts go to captain Reese Combe, Kai Bodell, and Shannon Freeman for stepping up big for the team. Our next game is away on Saturday, September 21 at 2:30pm against another Class A team, Deerfield Academy.
