  • JV 'Cats Win Home Opener

The girls' JV hoopers put on a great show for the home fans as they avenged their road opening loss to Proctor the week before by leading the Hornets from beginning to end in a classic, gutty performance. Izzy Anderson '28 led all scorers with 23 points and controlled the ball from endline to endline in the last few minutes to salt the game away. Stella Prieto '27 was a force on the boards and scored ten of her fourteen points in the second half when the 'Cats needed them the most. Both Angela Shen '27 and Avy Arias '28 hit clutch threes in the first half to keep the game close. The defense was the story, too, as point guard Melissa Liu '27 and forward Hannah Young '27 kept the Hornets in check. It was a gritty effort from a team that is learning how to win tough games, and this was surely one of them. Back in action for more in 2025!
  • Wildcats Play Great, Lose by a little in first test

    Tom Lord
KUA's Girls' JV hoops team started its 2024-25 campaign on the road to take on the Hornets of Proctor Academy. The team was blown out when these two teams played last season, but today was a very different story as the game was close until the final whistle. The Wildcats played terrific defense and kept Proctor from hitting long shots all game. KUA had their own answers, as Melissa Liu '27 and Angela Shen '27 hit big three's to keep things close while Izzy Anderson '28 and Stella Prieto '27 led the scoring barrage with 17 and 9 points respectively. Anderson made 7 of 9 free throws in the final quarter to keep things interesting and Prieto worked many screen and rolls with Anderson to score great buckets. The entire team played tough D to frustrate the Hornets, and we are all looking forward to getting a W when we play the same team on our home court this coming Wednesday at 2 pm!
