Parents

Family Weekend

We are pleased to invite you to join us on The Hilltop for Family Weekend, Friday, October 19 and Saturday, October 20, 2018.

The weekend schedule is designed to provide you the opportunity to spend time with your student, visit classes, meet teachers, advisors and house parents, and, if you are a parent of a senior, meet with your child’s college advisor. Family Weekend is also a great opportunity to gather with fellow parents, watch an athletic game, view arts performances, and take part in the energy and excellence of this community. Parents are invited to accompany their children to a full rotation of classes held between Friday morning and Saturday morning. The adjusted schedule is designed to maximize parent involvement.

The Admission Office will be open on Saturday, October 20 for sibling and friend interviews. They will be offering an optional tour departing at 9:45am and interviews from 10:40 am - 11:30 am. Call to reserve your spot, 603-469-2100.

Individual Meetings:
During Family Weekend, parents meet with their student’s advisor-and the student- to review current information about their progress in all areas of school life. Advisors and parents are encouraged to connect in the weeks prior to the weekend to schedule a meeting. If there is the need for a course-specific meeting with a teacher, boarding parents are welcome to contact individual faculty members directly to schedule a short conference, and senior parents can schedule one-on-one college advisor meetings.

Students:
We ask that all boarding students remain on campus Friday evening. Parents are invited to observe classes once again on Saturday morning, as well as attend several parent forums that are noted on the master schedule.

Students are free to leave for the weekend following their last commitment on Saturday. We respectfully request that normal sign-out procedures be followed. Boarders are expected to return by 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23. Classes resume Wednesday morning.

Lodging:
October is typically when New England foliage is at its peak, making it one of the most beautiful and busiest times of the year in the Upper Valley. If you haven’t already done so, we suggest that you make your lodging arrangements as soon as possible. For help with your selection, please refer to the Area Lodging listings on our VIsitor's Guide webpage.
