History Department Hosts Symposium

Dan Weintruab, Donald P. Herzig ‘48 Chair, History and The History Department recently hosted an all-school History Symposium.

There's so much to talk about, so much going on in the world that demands our attention. Things really do matter! And so, in an effort to keep the dialog open, the History Department embarked upon its first annual symposium entitled THINGS THAT MATTER. In the second academic trimester, 350 members of the KUA community met in The Barn and discussed issues ranging from the constitutional matters of free expression, to the selective service and gender, to civil rights and private property. How we engage is of course as important to us as why we engage, and our conversations on this day were inclusive, respectful and open of mind and heart. Things matter, and at KUA we talk about them.
