Advising Hones its Direction: Compass Period 2017

Brook Raney, Dean of Community Life
The Advising Program has always been at the center of the KUA experience. The unique care, guidance, and support that a student finds from an advisor at Kimball Union sets the experience apart and serves as a springboard for academic and personal success.
Through a thoughtful new design of our Compass Program, comprised of weekly, small-group programming within advisee groups, faculty advisors are trained in the areas of wellness, academics, and college planning to provide education, encouragement, and advice. Themes from All School Meeting, our family-focused residential program, and academic classes are woven into Compass to provide time and space for reflection and growth.

This year, Compass period programming will include discussions on Active Listening, Nutrition, the importance of sleep, and much more.  Stay tuned for more coverage of these topics.
