Ruth Stone Collins, Age 102, Of Sarasota Passed Away On Wednesday, March 22, 2017. She Was Born To Robert And Dorothy Stone In Winchester, Massachusetts On March 19, 1915. She Graduated From Bradford College And Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School In Boston, Ma. Ruth Became Secretary For Kimball Union Academy In Meridan, Nh And Married George G. Collins In 1937. She Became The Mother Of Dorothy Collins Dewitt Of Center Sandwich, Nh, Barbara Collins Dingman Of Hailey, Idaho And George G. Collins, Jr. Of Vero Beach, Florida. They Moved To Winchester, Ma Then To Naples, Fl. The Family Then Moved To Sarasota, Florida In 1948 Where They Became Active In Many Civic Activities. She And Mr. Collins Were Charter Members Of The Field Club. She Was Also A Member Of The Sea Grapes Garden Club And Founding Member Of: The Visiting Nurse Association, The Congregational Church, Cotillion, The Debutante Ball And Active In Raising Money Along With Her Husband, George For The Founding Of New College.Later In Life She Married Jack Dwinell And They Resided At The Fountains In Sarasota Until His Death. Ruth Will Be Remembered By Her Children, Grandchildren And Great-Grandchildren. She Celebrated Her 102Nd Birthday This March. She Will Be Remembered As An Outstanding Member Of Her Community And Her Family. A Private Service And Burial Will Be Held In New Hampshire. In Lieu Of Flowers, Memorial Donations May Be Made To The Visiting Nursing Association Of Florida, 4038 Cattleman Road, Sarasota, Florida 34223. Farley Funeral Home In Venice Is Handling The Arrangements.
