Edna Amaral Nutbrown

Edna Amaral Nutbrown, 95, formerly of Canaan, Enfield and Meriden, NH, passed away on November 12, 2014. She was born June 5, 1919 in Albany, VT, to the late Levi and Lilla (Watson) Rancore. She graduated from Canaan High School. Edna worked a short time at the Baltic Mill in Enfield and later at the Hanover Inn where she met and married Charles Amaral. They made their home in Meriden and raised their children; he predeceased her in 1966. Edna worked for Kimball Union Academy where she operated the snack bar. Edna later married William Nutbrown who, along with her two daughters enjoyed both long distance travel and impromptu day trips. She enjoyed reading, knitting and spending time with her family and friends. Edna retired from housekeeping at DHMC after 22 years. She is survived by two daughters, April Hoisington and Janice Amaral.
