Cats drop opener to Rams

The KUA JV Girls' basketball squad dropped their season opener at home, falling to Tilton, 42-21. It was the first game ever for some of the Wildcats, who showed their relative inexperience against a deeper and talented Rams bunch. Senior Kate Mackey led KUA with 13 points, while first-time player Vanessa Mateko chipped in with four of her own and played outstanding defense, as did many of KUA's players. It was a good learning test for the team, and the players will look to get on the winning side of things at Proctor on Saturday.
