Student Life Office Offers “Winter Saturdays” Special Programming

Two Saturday mornings, January 19 (for Seniors and Sophomores) and February 16 (for Juniors and Freshmen), have been set aside in the busy winter schedule for KUA mission-aligned programming for each class.

Seniors participated in “Ethics Day”. KUA alumni from a variety of career fields were invited back to lead students in guided conversations surrounding ethics in the workplace. Informal conversations about KUA, college, and career choices were also a part of the program which was also a great networking opportunity.

Juniors participate in College Planning Weekend (sophomores will also be required to attend parts of this program). The College Advising office puts together a helpful and informative series of workshops and sessions to ease the anxiety and build the excitement around the college selection and application process.

Sophomores spent the day learning about our responsibility to care for others, and how to respond to emergency situations. All sophomores underwent training in CPR and first aid. If they choose to, they can continue training through the health center and the American Heart Association in order to be certified. Students already certified were engaged as instructors.

Because the Freshmen class completed Choices this fall, they will be rewarded with a ski day at Whaleback Mountain. All freshmen will ski with a group of faculty at Whaleback.
