KUA matched up against White Mountain for its first clash of the year and emerged victorious, 55-23. Having had only one full team practice prior to the game, the team was understandably quite rusty throughout the encounter, but they did show some glimpses of offensive continuity from time to time and their defensive performance improved in the second half. Senior Captain Eli Jaynes paced the team in scoring with 16 points and he was joined on the scoresheet by seniors Noah Spaulding (6 points), Simon Pelzman (12 points), and Dan Salem (2 points), juniors Owen Xu (4 points) and Will Haynes (2 points), sophomores Jack Bolg (4 points), Hill Carter (3 points), Roger Liu (2 points), Caleb Nadell (2 points), and freshman Charlie Creelman (4 points). The Wildcats received strong defensive performances by Bolg and junior Kelvin Zhang and a spirited showing on both ends of the floor by senior Jimmy Yan.
