A Passion for Running

Elizabeth Edwards, Faculty
This week, we hear from faculty member Elizabeth Edwards. Ms. Edwards teaches in our Learning Center, is part of the freshmen team teaching Choices, is dorm head in Hall Farm, is a three-season coach for Cross Country, Nordic Skiing, and Track, and is an accomplished runner in her own right, recently completing Chicago marathon. Here’s Elizabeth:

This fall, I ran the Chicago marathon, my second Abbott World Marathon Majors race. (I have also done Boston four times with 3:10:33 as my personal best.) The other Majors are New York City, Tokyo, London, and Berlin. I dream of doing all of them, but it is challenging logistically. I ran a 3:16:56 in Chicago. I was the 399th place female out of 20,622 women. I placed 3,223rd overall (men and women) out of 44, 571 total racers and 115th in my age/gender group out of 1,391 women aged 25-29.

I plan to run Boston on Patriot’s Day 2019 and alongside several college teammates.

Thank you, Ms. Edwards, for sharing your passion for running, and stay tuned for more news from The Hilltop.
