Wildcats Band Together to Win 16-13 Over Cushing

The Wildcats had another hard fought game on Pope Field this past Saturday, May 4th. It was a tough match against Cushing, with Cushing leading from the start of the game. However, the Wildcats were able to make adjustments throughout and overcome Cushing to win 16-13.

Svia Russman-Araya was a standout all over the field, with ten draw controls, a goal and three assists. Hadley Bethke and Lindie Brinkman snagged four draw controls a piece for the Wildcats. Bethke also added in eight goals and Lindie Brinkman snagged two goals and three assists. Portia Berard rounded out the attack with three goals, along with Caroline Daft making her debut on the field since her ACL injury and was able to put the ball in the back of the net for her first game back.

Defensively, KUA did a great job adapting to the fast paced game against Cushing. Maggie Lopez, Sylvie McClure, McKenna Dockery, Lena Connors, Mallory Clark, Svia Russman, LIndie Brinkman and Bridget Clark between the pipes, were able to slow down Cushing's fast breaks and capitalize on their mistakes.

The Wildcats are back at it on Wednesday at Deerfield Academy at 3:30PM.
