KUA Locks In Second Win Against Brewster

The Wildcats met Brewster on Wednesday for their second match of the season. The match began as a back and forth contest, yet KUA was able to quickly pull away from the Bobcats within the second quarter. KUA was able to dominate the competition by controlling the ball and pace of play. The Wildcats snagged 12 ground balls and 12 draw controls, with Hadley Bethke leading the charge with two ground balls and six draw controls.

Offensively, the Wildcats had one of their most successful games as a team with five goal scorers and almost half of the goals being assisted and not off of an isolation. Svia Russman-Araya, Hadley Bethke and Lindie Brinkman each had four goals a piece. Russman-Araya led the way in assists, with three for the Wildcats. Hadley Bethke added in two assists as well, along with Portia Berard with an goal and an assist, Analena Connors with a goal, and Maggie Lopez and Julia Chedel each with an assist.

Defensively, the Wildcats held the Bobcats from gaining ground throughout the match. Bridget Clark gained eight saves and was a force with the defense, keeping Brewster from being able to get shots on goal.

KUA is already looking ahead to their match against Proctor on Friday at 5:00PM.
