Overtime Win! Wildcats Headed to NEPSAC Finals

Jack Sadowski scored his second goal of the game 4:41 into overtime to send the Wildcats to the NEPSAC Elite 8 Finals with a 4-3 win over Salisbury on Saturday in Meriden. In front of a packed Akerstrom Arena, the Wildcats took a 1-0 lead in the second period when Sam LeDrew scored on a bar-down one-timer on the powerplay. The game stayed that way until there were seven minutes left in the third when Sadowski scored to put KUA up 2-0. However, after taking a timeout, Salisbury stormed back to score three goals in 1:30 to take the lead. But KUA didn't quit, as Malcolm Baar scored on a rebound from Caden Barnard with less than two minutes left to tie the game and send it into overtime. In the extra frame, Sadowski worked hard on the forecheck to get the puck from a Salisbury defender before sliding it five-hole for the win, igniting the crowd in the process. Goalie Blake McMeniman stopped 28 shots for KUA, who takes on Cushing Academy for the championship on Sunday at 5:00 at Harvard's Bright Hockey Center.
