Overtime Winner Sends KUA to NEPSAC Semi-Finals

Andrew O'Sullivan scored on a brilliant individual rush 17 minutes into overtime as the Wildcats defeated St. George's 5-4 on Wednesday in Meriden. In a roller-coaster game that saw KUA climb back from three separate one-goal deficits only to relinquish its own one-goal lead midway through the third period, the Wildcats found a way to win when O'Sullivan rushed the puck as a St. George's penalty expired and deposited a backhand, sending a raucous KUA student section into a frenzy. The other KUA goals came from Corwith Simmers and Sam LeDrew, each of whom scored twice. LeDrew also had an assist on the night while O'Sullivan and Jack Sadowski had two helpers each. Goalie Blake McMeniman stood tall in the KUA net, stopping 49 shots, including all 12 he saw in overtime. The win sets up a semi-final matchup with Salisbury School on Saturday at 2:30 in Meriden.
