Late Goal Gives KUA Win Over Cushing

Sam LeDrew scored a hat trick, including the game-winning goal with 4:12 to play to break a 2-2 tie, to lead the Wildcats to a 4-2 win at Cushing on Saturday. In rematch of Friday's game, which Cushing won 5-3, KUA fell behind 2-0 in the second period before LeDrew and CJ Watroba scored 43 seconds apart to tie the game. Cushing pressed in the third, but goalie Blake McMeniman (36 saves) stood tall to keep the game tied. On the winning goal, after a rush up ice, Jack McMinn passed the puck across the ice to Jack Sadowski who immediately found LeDrew in the slot. The captain made no mistake as he rifled the puck over the goalie's right shoulder to give KUA the lead. LeDrew added an empty-netter in the last minute to complete the hat trick. Sadowski finished with three assists, while McMinn had two, and Iain Olsen and Kyle Murray-Smith added solo helpers.
