Powerplay Goal Pushes KUA Past Proctor

A Sam LeDrew one-timer on the powerplay midway through the third period proved to be the game-winning goal as the Wildcats earned a close 4-2 win over Proctor on Wednesday in Meriden. Leading 1-0 after one on a goal from Nathan McLean, the Wildcats surrendered the lead early in the second when Proctor tied it up with a breakaway goal. Junior Nick Evans scored his first goal as a Wildcat later in the second to restore the lead. After Proctor tied the game early in the third period, the KUA powerplay went to work and LeDrew one-timed a pass from Jack McMinn to score the eventual game-winner. Jack Sadowski added an empty-net goal late in the third to round out the scoring. Colby Boyce was excellent in net for KUA, stopping 23 of 25 shots for the win.
