Wildcats Fall in Final

Despite firing 47 shots on net, the Wildcats fell 4-3 to Northwood School in the final of the GameSheet Prep Cup in Exeter on Sunday. Trailing 2-0 after one period, the Wildcats cut the lead in half when Sam LeDrew scored a powerplay goal midway through the second. However, Northwood took a 3-1 lead into the final frame before going up 4-1 early in the third. There was no quit in KUA though, as Corwith Simmers buried a pass from LeDrew midway through the period to make it a two-goal game. Killing a penalty in the final minute, Simmers scored again from LeDrew, but that was all the offense KUA could muster before time ran out. Goalie Blake McMeniman took the loss in net, making 28 saves.
