Wildcats Defeat Tilton 7-0

In a rainy evening clash, the Kimball Union Academy Field hockey team embarked on a journey to face off against the Rams of Tilton School. Despite the relentless downpour, the Wildcats displayed their tenacity and determination, arriving at the field ready to showcase their prowess.

The game began as a back-and-forth battle, with both teams crafting offensive opportunities. However, it was the Wildcats who struck first. Midway through the first quarter, Mckenna Dockery seized an opportunity, sending a rebounding ball toward the far post, where Ainsley Lonczak expertly deflected it past the Tilton keeper. The Wildcats took an early lead, igniting their spirits.

Ainsley Lonczak continued to shine in the second quarter, extending the Wildcats' advantage. This time, she found the back of the net with an assist from Mallory Clark. Just two minutes later, Ainsley secured her hat-trick, marking her third goal of the night, with an assist from Michaela Cokinos. The Wildcats entered halftime with a comfortable 3-0 lead, buoyed by Ainsley's remarkable performance.

The third quarter saw the Clark sisters collaborating to further bolster the Wildcats' lead. Mallory delivered a well-placed ball into the circle, where Bridget managed to redirect it into the net. Shortly thereafter, Mallory herself added to the scoreline, making it a commanding 5-0 game. With just one minute remaining in the quarter, Mallory scored again, this time from a corner, earning her a second goal of the night in addition to her two assists.

Lulu Leppard sealed the deal in the final quarter, netting the last goal off an offensive corner by sending the ball into the top left corner over the goalkeeper. It was a triumphant night for the Wildcats, with every player contributing to the team's resounding success.
